How much higher is platinum going to go?

November 21, 2006

So the question of the day...How much higher is platinum going to go?

I'll be the first to admit, I have no idea and no market pundit out there is making anything outside an educated guess about where it could go.

All I can do is repeat what we've been saying over the past few months. All commodities will continue to go higher. Platinum might go to $2,000 per ounce. What I do know is that platinum has already made an all time high, predicting where we go from there is a guesstimate at the best. There are a lot of rumors circulating the markets about a platinum ETF. I personally think the platinum market is too tight for supplies (or regulators) to allow for an ETF to become a quick reality for the platinum market. If on an outside chance a platinum ETF is approved, the market will make another jump, but it will be a volatile market.

We believe that any investment in precious metals will be a good move in the coming years. Some will be better than others. Specifically, gold and silver have a much better chance to appreciate considerably from current levels when compared to platinum. That being said, we still think platinum can go higher.
